Tena enjoys writing about ways to help children in their everyday lives.  A native of Pennsylvania who was born and raised in beautiful rural Juniata County, Tena currently resides in York County.

She is the author of three books in the Digby’s Discoveries series:  The Fruit of the Spirit, The Armor of God, and Choose to Love.  A fourth one in the series, Wonderfully Made, will be published soon. 

The books are a compilation of relatable short stories.  Her wonderful children and precious grandchildren are the inspiration for her writing.  Digby is modeled after one of her grandsons.

While the stories are aimed primarily at children in elementary and intermediate grades, she hopes children of all ages will enjoy and learn through the practical, everyday life experiences Digby encounters.  Hidden meanings are woven throughout the stories for readers to ponder and discover.  At the conclusion of each short story, there are Bible verses and questions to think about and discuss with others in hopes that all will come to know and grow closer to God through their own personal journey.

God led her to write these books following her retirement from her 35-year career in the Human Resources field.  Spending quality time with God, family, friends, and writing are most important to her.  When she’s not doing these things, she can be found volunteering, traveling, reading, and walking.
